PATRICIA LYNN (1930-2014) was an accomplished Philadelphia-based artist and illustrator. She was introduced to drawing at a very young age by her father, Joseph Hallock (longtime editor of "Answers to Queries" for the Philadelphia Evening Bulletin), and she continued to draw and paint throughout her childhood. After high school, Patricia went on to study at The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and The Barnes Foundation with Dr. Albert Barnes and Violette de Mazia. After completing her studies, Patricia embarked on a long and impressive career, illustrating numerous children's stories for such prestigious clients as The Curtis Publishing Company, JB Lippincott, and Westminster Press. She later went on to do coin, package and product design for Lenox, QVC, Campbell's Soup Company, The Franklin Mint, Audubon, The United Nations, and The World Wildlife Fund, among others. Throughout her career, Patricia also taught at area art centers, and was commissioned to paint portraits for individual private clients.
Inspired by the Golden Age of Illustration, and such artists as Beatrix Potter, Arthur Rackham, Marguerite de Angeli and Maurice Sendak, her illustrations are charming and unique.
